Company policies and procedures are in place to protect the rights of workers as well as the business interests of employers. Depending on the needs of the organization, various policies and procedures establish rules regarding employee conduct, attendance, dress code, privacy and other areas related to the terms and conditions of employment.

How to make a policy effective?

Firstly, the policy should help the organisation achieve it’s objectives. Secondly, the policy must not contradict each other and must not be inconsistent. Lastly, the policy should be logical, flexible and should act as a guide for future planning and action.

RM Team (Roles & Responsibilities)

RM Leader (Stephanie):

–lead and coordinate RM implementation

–provide regular updates to the Employer, preferably monthly but no less than once a year,

–Obtain approval from employer for implementation of risk control measures

SGSecure representative (Andy) : Serves as the Point of
Contact (POC) with the authorities. During peacetime,
he/she can champion SGSecure and assist the employer to
implement SGSecure initiatives as recommended in the
SGSecure Guide for Workplaces. During times of crisis,
he/she could be in contact with the authorities and
mobilise the workforce to respond to terror attacks.
The rep will have no legal liabilities. Appointing a rep is
voluntary, but strongly encouraged. Having a company
SGSecure rep can help improve a company’s ability to
respond during crisis. An organisation may have more
than one

RA Leader(Emily):

-form RA team
-lead and coordinate the team
-provides updates to RM team
-determine what is the most appropriate
-way to identify the hazards.

RA Member(HuiQin & Jia Liang):

–have representatives from both the management and non-management levels –include personnel who are involved with the work, including contractors and suppliers. –If available, it should include persons who are familiar with the design and development of the site, machine or process

–be responsible for conducting RAs within the scope defined by the RM Team –determine if the hazards could cause harm beyond the immediate their area
